I want to get an updated Speed Index average based on the data query here: [https://sites.google.com/a/webpagetest.org/docs/using-webpagetest/metrics/speed-index](https://sites.google.com/a/webpagetest.org/docs/using-webpagetest/metrics/speed-index)

When I tried to get a more updated average, it seems a lot higher than 2 years ago:

SELECT AVG (SpeedIndex)
FROM
[httparchive:runs.2015\_06\_01\_pages]
where rank \<300000

In this query the average came out to be 6917. Either I am doing something wrong in the query, or perhaps some things have changed since that time? Any info or insight would be greatly appreciated.

I’m trying to find the average speed index as well. Did you ever get your answer?

No I haven’t - but been thinking about whether such a number is useful in the first place. In looking over the sites, there are some outliers that may be driving up the total score. I guess I stepped back and asked myself what I am trying to measure? Since sites vary in content and needs, it might make more sense to get an average speed index across a given industry or industries. For example, I’ve been working on a Speed Index of e-commerce sites.
