We are interested in navigating the time trend of webs having a cookie Consent banner. Specifically, we would like to know the proportion of websites that have such banner from 2014-2024. Is there a good way to check a large volume of websites? Thanks.
In the 2022 Web Almanac Privacy chapter there is a section on Consent Management Platforms. The query can be updated to retrieve the latest data for 2024.
However, keep in mind that the tests are run from the US where (AFAIK) cookie consent is not a legal requirement. Therefore the results are likely to be under-reported.
