Convergence of mobile and desktop page weights

I wonder if the convergence of mobile and desktop page weights is due to RWD or if mobile pages will continue to grow and eventually exceed desktop.

I guess we want feature parity between desktop and mobile (if we ever want mobile web apps to be taken seriously as an alternative to native apps) but shouldn’t the smaller form factor mean smaller assets like expensive graphics?

With the high-dpi screens on mobile devices they often need higher resolution than desktop :frowning:
